Back in 2016 we discovered Ecosia, a search engine that plants a tree for every 6 web-searches you make. It recently announced that it has reached the milestone of planting 50 million trees in 21 reforestation projects across the planet.

These trees have absorbed 2.5 million tonnes of toxic CO2 from our atmosphere, created a habitat for chimpanzees in Uganda; in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso, they stop the desert from moving south; they are restoring water supplies and soil fertility in Peru, and they are providing more abundant and sustainable harvests to smallholder farmers around the world.
